PVI Salutes Our Veterans with an “All American” Drink for November

Dad, Roy and Ted

WWII Veteran, Wesley Means, enjoys the PVI Signature Drink of the Month with his son-in-law, Roy Knight, compliments of PVI and prepared by Ted Hackleman, Spins Coffee Truck.

At PVI, we truly are thankful for all our veterans and we thank them for their service!

So in honor of Veterans Day this month and to honor these worthy warriors, we are excited to pay tribute to them with this month’s PVI’s Signature Drink of the Month – The All American Peanut Butter Cookie Crumble, available only at Spins Coffee Truck!

Although National Peanut Butter Cookie Day occurs on June 12th, we think the peanut butter cookie is about as all American as you can get and the perfect pairing for our valued veterans!

But first, here’s a little history about the peanut butter cookie. (As you know, veterans and history go hand-in-hand.) Peanut butter was invented by the Aztecs in the 14th century, but it didn’t become an American favorite until the early 1900s. In 1916, George Washington Carver began promoting the peanut and its many uses. As part of the campaign, he published three peanut butter cookie recipes in a research bulletin entitled, “How to Grow the Peanut and 105 Ways of Preparing it for Human Consumption.”

In 1932, the Schenectady Gazette published the first peanut butter cookie recipe that called for criss-crossed fork marks on the top. (Because the dough is so dense, it helps insure even cooking.) Today, a peanut butter cookie just wouldn’t look quite right without this iconic decoration!

And if you’re of “a certain age” it’s probably the first cookie you remember eating! It definitely has become a symbol of Americana and the rest, as they say, is history!

To help you make history and pay tribute to a special veteran in your life, PVI is pleased to offer our BOGO (buy one/get one free) for November! Just stop by Spins Coffee Truck and order the “PVI All American Peanut Butter Cookie Crumble” and you’ll receive a free one to share, compliments of PVI. Of course, spending a little quality time while sharing your drink with a favorite veteran is the sweetest treat of all. (Just ask Roy Knight, pictured with his father-in-law, Wesley Means, a WWII veteran who served with the 467th BG(H), 8th Air Force.) Also pictured is our veteran coffee creator, Ted Hackleman.

But hurry in soon, because this special offer ends at close of business on November 30th. Sorry, that’s just the way the cookie crumbles…

(One Free Drink Offer per person/per day through November 30th.)
